Easter Weekend

It's taken me quite awhile to post our Easter since last week was so crazy due to talk preparations for Sacrament Meeting on Sunday afternoon. Yes, that's right! I gave a talk at a baptism (on baptism) on Sat., then a talk in Sacrament mtg. with Steve, who then gave a lesson to his Deacons. We are relieved to have the weekend behind us! There was a lot of fun and much spiritual growth, however, so it was worth it all! Our memories start with Alyssa's first experience in a real outdoor swing, with her brother doing the honors. Hope you have a chance to view the smilebox scrapbook above. Enjoy! I hope all of you had a WONDERFUL Easter with wonderful memories to share and testimonies renewed. We love you all!!!

Conference & Waffles Weekend

Traditionally, we enjoy a delicious breakfast of Belgian waffles every General Conference weekend before the Sunday morning session. We always have them with real whipped cream, finely chopped strawberries, and syrup. This morning Michael said, "They're YUMMY! They're my favorite!" Jeremy said they are, "The best waffles in the World!" We started this tradition years ago, when we lived in Lehi while Bryon and Tyler were little. The recipe was given to me by my beautiful sister, Melinda. It's so wonderful to have traditions the children love and look forward to! For the recipe, visit our Alger Family recipes blog. Spring Break- A refreshing week!

Just thought I would take a quick minute to describe just how enjoyable Spring Break was! Steve couldn't take more than a day or two off for anything other than day trips here in Oregon, so we decided to make them at the Coast and Animal Safari. Which, by-the-way is worth the price if you wish to visit Oregon or have wondered during your time living here. We sure needed the time away just to enjoy fresh air and be away from home and phone! Sometimes we get so caught up in the day to day living that we forget just how enjoyable life can be. Since Alyssa's birth, that is what happened to me. I'm so thankful for the support of family and their enthusiasm to go do something fun away from home, even though they get to regularly. It was a wonderful time we can chalk up to good memories. We origionally wanted to rent 4-wheelers for the dunes but were not able to have more than Bryon, myself and Steve drive them and we couldn't ride with a passenger. We will look into a different place next time. The sandboarding was cheaper and was a load of fun! We enjoyed a great picnic lunch and a beautiful hike up the dunes and seeing the ocean (which I miss, being a California girl), then capped off the night with Pizza from Eugene's Sys New York style Pizza. The next day was spent at the Animal Safari in Winston and the zoo and gift shop there. The boys enjoy getting the penny made into an animal coin, which is a great souvenir to scrapbook as well! No future yard sale junk for us!! hahaha! Make sure you check out the scrapbook below to see more pictures of our wonderful Spring Break!!
