The children had so much fun yesterday for St. Patrick's Day that when they got up this morning they were still talking about it. We had the greatest fun! For breakfast, the children had a choice between several different St. Patrick's Day buttons they could wear. By the end of the day they had me wearing the one that said, "Kiss me, I'm Irish"! They had a fun breakfast of Lucky Charms, Green eggs and ham, green grapes, green grape juice, toast and green Go-Gurts. Dinner was quite the celebration as the table was decorated festively green, and a bowl of fun things for each person to choose from and wear to show their spirit of the festivities. Bryon wore a flashing shamrock, while Jeremy sported shamrock glasses and Steve wire a drivers hat while Tyler dangled a green whistle with shamrock adornment. Alyssa styled out with a Leperchaun hat headband. We had a wonderful time while eating our Corned beef and Cabbage, green salad, dinner rolls and lime Jello with Pistachio pudding and cool whip for dessert. Having a big family makes occassions like this one so great! (In case you're wondering, Michael and Justin slept through it all, sadly enough. )

*FYI- The corned beef and cabbage recipe is a weight watchers 8 pt. meal that can be found on the "Alger Family Recipes" blog (link provided).

Happy St. Patrick's Day!I thought it would be fun to share with you our new St Patrick's tradition! Jeremy came home from school and told me that a friend of his said that if you put a 3-leaf clover under your pillow, a Leperchaun will leave you 3 pieces of candy, if you leave gold or a 4-leaf clover you will get gold. So all in good faith they (Jeremy, Michael, andJustin) left 2-3 leaf clovers each and a Chuck-E-Cheese coin, being that it's gold! (Oh the mind of a child). How could the Leperchaun then let them down? So...here is what the good Irish-man brought them, after-all...we do have Irish ancestry!

Do or die we are having a garden this year! Due to the great number of trees in our back yard, there is not a sunny patch to plant a garden. Because of this, our whole Saturday yesterday was dedicated to the cause of creating the perfect garden spot! Steve borrowed a chain saw and set to work. The whole family participated by dragging away limbs and stacking logs for next years' firewood storage. It was a great family effort! We look forward to a prosperous garden this year. One tree down, two to go!

PROJECTS

Anyone that knows me well knows that I am always in the midst of some type of project, great or small. If I don't have a project, I create one. Call it ambition, call it crazy! Whatever you choose to call it they will be posted here! I thought it would be fun to share all that we have been doing these last many months. This is our older boys'/guest downstairs bathroom. The parkay flooring came up, so I got to work on the tile. We ended up pulling out the shower and retiling that too. It was much needed! The boys are excited and we are really happy with the results!
